Good answer. De Beers is not a South African company solely.
They originated there but are active globaly. As far as a secure investment goes they are about the most secure. They have weathered SA for so long they would have learned about precaution. The market they lead would teach them this valuable trait as well. They've been doing it for over a hundred years along with the likes of Phelps Dodge and Homestake, I would not worry about them going away either.
