Our views are somewhat in alignment. IMHO you look at Java as a platform and not O8i. The Java language itself is most powerful when combined with the various packages provided. Fore example O8i collaboration with JNDI and other Java Enterprise APIs. The JVM by itself is nothing more than the execution engine, compliance to the various Java API specifications is of far more interest. Certainly O8i will have its limitations and positioning relative to OAS which will not be displaced. syborg
