I thought at the time that Articles of Impeachment were voted by the House that some of the Articles did not rise to an impeachable level. But since several clearly did, what difference did it make? I'm thinking of what I believe (but am not sure) was the first count, lying to the American people. I thought by itself that that was ridiculous. (And could be used as a pretext to impeach just about anybody.)

Noting Starr's often quoted remarks about purging pornography perverts has nothing to do with political gotcha, to my mind. It's not just a political campaign exaggeration, or a youthful over statement. It seems to represent how the man now thinks and feels. (Although I wouldn't of course take purge to have its Stalinist meaning -- Starr would probably accept less than death or life imprisonment in Siberia. Well, at least a little less. I think. <gg>)
