Mr. Glenn Shevchenko reports
The second of two recently completed drill holes on the Sarah Lake property has intersected two semi-massive sulphide zones totalling 2.2 metres in thickness just below the base of an olivine gabbro. Drill hole 98-121 passed out of the olivine gabbro at 128.2 metres and then encountered a 1.7 metre thick zone of semi-massive sulphides from 129.7 to 131.4 metres and a further 0.5 metre thick zone from 132.6 to 133.1 metres downhole. Drill hole 98-120, approximately 650 metres to the west, encountered a narrow 0.5 metre interval of heavily disseminated sulphides at the base of an olivine gabbro.
As announced in Stockwatch Sept. 11, 1998, these two holes were drilled in the south-central portion of the Sarah Lake property on conductive zones that were defined by the pulse electromagnetic survey. Significant assays will be announced when available.
The planned PEM and gravity surveys have now been completed on the Sarah Lake property, however results have not been fully compiled and interpreted. Until this work is complete, further drill holes cannot be situated on optimum targets and the drill rig has therefore been moved off the property to other target areas. Drilling will resume once the geophysical interpretation has been completed and targets have been optimized.
The property is jointly owned by Major General (40 per cent) and Donner Minerals (60 per cent) with Teck Corporation retaining the right to earn 50 per cent of Donner's interest.
