So what kind of availability guarantee does Sun offer? Just asking, no idea.

Also, in the article, the GE guy is acting like some kind of boor. Where does he get 99.9999% ? Even before you get to that, he's using the word reliability where availability should be used. To give him the benefit of the doubt, maybe he was quoted incorrectly. Back to the six nines, if availability, I don't think even IBM, with all their RAS, can guarantee that.
