Off Topic and LONG and BORING ---- forewarned is forearmed.
Honey, I'm home .........
I'm posting this same message to my 3 of my 4 "home threads" ---- didn't want to disturb Cousin Ike on the other one ........ gggggg
After many trials and tribulations, none of any great import, just minor blips on the road of life, I've finally gotten my phones, cable, computers, office, wife, kids, remod projects, and cat back in the land of the normal.......... well, maybe the cat has always been normal, just lately has taken to reacting to the family stress by not using the litter box in the proper manner ......... gggggg The only stranger who is outside the range of normal is my knee, which I damaged on the rain slick roof attempting to repair the phone and cable lines after the storm. The knee won't require surgery, only another couple weeks of PT. The ortho doc and I have been friends for a long time and when he suggested that I lose some weight to aid in the rehab, I suggested that he might need some of his partners in the ortho practice to help remove his suggestion from a portion of his anatomy that he couldn't reach without their assistance ........ ggggggg I told him that the knee was the reason for which I had sought his services, not my waist or my bald head, both of which are "fat" , and we both had a good laugh.
I've been a bachelor for this week (Marilyn has been gone on school business for part and had to take the laptop with her ... she is now on a nontalking/soulsearching/listentotheJesuits/readtheBiblebythelake/ retreat ......
This is her first one, but makes about the 5th or 6th annual retreat for my sis, who talked her into attendance ....... several of our friends evidenced the thought that they couldn't go 4 days without speaking ------- Red/Blondie won't have ANY difficulty, in my estimation for the following reasons ....... 1) the kids are gone from home 2) the two of us are the only ones at home 3) when she gets mad at me ----- four days is about normal for her to go without talking ......... GGGGGGG
When my box became fried during the storm and I decided to get a new one, I tried out four or five different computers and settled on getting the old one fixed for a little under $300 ..... but I have some good ones to look for on sale for Christmas. I just got the old one out of the shop and this is the first usage for it.
this is off topic from the off topic but I feel the need to post it, just as a reminder to all who read it that the market is not the center of the universe ........... If my whole world was as little trouble and as rewarding as my kids and grandkids, it would really be great..... can't remember that I was ever good enough in my past to deserve the harvest of love and affection that I've been given from them ....... and I told them all that this past weekend ...... the remark from my youngest brought tears to my eyes ------- "as ye sow, so shall ye reap" ....... my normal attempt at levity was to come back with "Oh hell, I hope not" but it kinda choked in my throat and wouldn't come out ......... sorry to take up bandwidth to post this, but , what the hell ........
Where was I ----- oh yeah ........
The BBx has now become a thing of the past .... my bud is no longer going to/able to participate..... damg but I'm gonna miss him and the BBx from daily correspondence, but I'm glad that he's gonna get better in the long run. I've spent a good deal of time this week closing out our accts with the data services, the timecharge for mainframe usage, sat service, realtime accts, etc . etc .........
For my 'real long ago cyberfriends', I'm now relegated back to the BCT ------- >>>> VBZG <<<<< and to the newer ones , even tho you might not be interested .....gggg when I first came onto SI and the Z thread , I called my system the BCT ------ Big Chief Tablet and #2 lead Pencil cause that's what I had spent 20 years using before the days of tech ........ well, that's where I am now ....... no BBx, no mainframe, just a yellow pencil and a lined tablet.,,,, but mayhaps just a tad bit more knowledge.

Thanks for all the emails and private messages from all of ya'll ...... I appreciate them a lot ........
