I tend to agree with you, which is why I own the shares. I didn't go out and buy more today (although I'm tempted to); I just hope that the shares I already have will enjoy a nice, steady incline.

Perhaps the market today isn't as excited as I'd have hoped because expectations of alliances have been, to some extent, built into the share price as it ran up from $7 a month ago, and because this announcement didn't guarantee any Ampex sales. Basically, the way I read it, it seems that Maxtor likes what they see from Ampex's technology, has done its due diligence as to the value of keepered media and set prices for Ampex's services, but has not made any kind of binding commitment or definite statement that they WILL be shipping KM drives.

Maybe it will take a more definite statment from a drive maker to really push AXC up. After all, Ampex does have a history and Wall Street might want to see some real dollars and cents before buying. Or maybe it's just that this announcement came on such a quiet day. Either way, I think it's good news. But I hope (and expect!) to hear even better news some time soon.
