Notice of Class Action Alcatel Alstholm
PR Newswire, Thursday, September 24, 1998 at 16:37
NEW YORK, Sept. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Alcatel Alstholm (NYSE:ALA) was named a defendant in a class action lawsuit filed today in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, Civil Action No. 98-6757, on behalf of all persons who acquired Alcatel securities in the merger with DSC Communications Corporation (the "Merger"). The Complaint charges Alcatel and its directors with violating federal securities laws by artificially inflating the price of Alcatel's American Depositary Shares through the issuance of materially false and misleading statements in connection with the Merger, which concealed the Company's true financial condition and operating performance. Plaintiff seeks to recover damages on behalf of all class members and is represented by Weiss & Yourman, a law firm having significant experience and expertise prosecuting class actions on behalf of investors and shareholders in federal and state courts throughout the United States. In fact, Weiss & Yourman has previously successfully litigated class action securities law claims against both Alcatel and DSC, which culminated in settlements totaling scores of millions of dollars. The firm maintains offices in New York City and in Los Angeles. The firm has repeatedly been appointed by courts as lead counsel in numerous complex litigations and has recovered hundreds of millions of dollars on behalf of investors.
