At the time, I thought that the Thomas hearings were needed; now with this thing with Clinton, I realized how wrong that had been. The Dem's are getting payback for that wrong they did. The Thomas/Hill spectacle should never have occurred.

As it turns out; Thomas's rulings have been so harsh and uncompassionate and his almost racial self-hatred is shocking. If anything is comprehended from watching Starr, the Constitutional protection against the government doing wrongs to an individual seems more important and relevant than ever. Imagine if Starr could have done anything without any Constitution to protect anyone? I think we would have tortured people to get them to talk!; and enjoyed it!

As for Bork; he now scares me and I figure that the Dems that fought against his nomination knew better than I what I now know. Listening to Bork on all the talk shows; this is not the kind of person you want as a Supreme Court justice. I don't think you would ever see Rhenquist talking the way Bork does in these harsh and partisan ways. A Supreme Court justice should be allied to the Constitution and the body of law; not politics. Even Thomas seems better than Bork, though he goes before partisan groups; I guess to find his only supporters. Beyer is my favorite on the bench; the most even-handed and judge-like.
