Although I sold before the big decline, I still follow this thread.

The SGIC story is so intriguing. However, I just don't see how this undercapitalized company can survive against IGT.

IGT is so prosperous it can "market" by essentially buying its way into casinos.

Let me give you a real life anecdote. Friends are presently considering opening a small racetrack in a state where casino gambling is not yet authorized. IGT is already on the spot, with an offer of financing if they get a first right on providing all of the slots (approximately 1000 if legislation passes).

How does a dinky little start-up like SGIC compete with this? They are only going to get crumbs.

This is a dumb stock to own if you bought it anywhere near the IPO price. Good ideas do not always lead to profitable investments.
