dg, we disagree that korea will throw in the towel (ie, not upgrade as fast as everyone else - or almost so). semis are a national (not corporate!) strategic initiative. the us won't outsource the making of nuclear warheads to iraq, if you know what i mean. they'll find the money (seen our debt lately?)

i'm not hot on anybody in dram. i just think that when you sell cars, stereos, tvs, monitors and whatever else those guys sell you have an option that mu DOES NOT HAVE.

mu might survive, it may not.

even if korea were to walk away, someone would by in cheaper and run the fabs. hence, supply would only be disrupted for a liyttle while and the 5 superfabs running on idle could more than make up for the hiccup, imho.
