even if korea were to walk away, someone would by in cheaper and run the fabs. hence, supply would only be disrupted for a liyttle while and the 5 superfabs running on idle could more than make up for the hiccup, imho.

Not true. It still costs a lot of money to run the fabs and according to Moore every 18 months they will need new money for upgrades and every 36 months probably new fabs. Koreans for the most part just don't have it. Also they know MU is dedicated to DRAM and will continue to fight on all fronts.

Someone like Hyundai I would compare to TXN. They are in other businesses that make money and could best use all their cash and resources much more in those businesses than in the commodity DRAM business that they have been losing money at.
