9/24/98 Talked with Dr. Drees this evening.
Had a few questions and the Dr. was in.
How long has Pher-02 been around? Approximately 3-4 years.
Is the shelf life 3 years or just hoped to be 3 years? His answer was that the 1st generation was good for 3 years, and he sees no reason
that this will be any different. The 3 year shelf life for Fluosol DA-20% was tested, because as I understood it, it was part of FDA testing for the 1st generation drug.

I asked what Battelle is doing at this time. Answer, they are working on the in-Vitro tests(tests in glass) at this time.
Forgot to ask what they are doing with animals at this time.
I asked when the full time testing with animal trials will start and Dr. Drees said his best guess was 4, 6, or 8 weeks. Getting close.
I asked if there was any way this could help with AIDS?
The only way it would help with AIDS is you would not get it because of a transfusion using this product. It would not cure AIDS.
We talked about Green Cross for a few minutes. Couple of things I learned was that probably nobody can reproduce Flousol because nobody knows how. Except maybe for Dr. Drees. Japan does not want to market or sell this product. They just want to forget about it, because of the embarrassment over getting caught falsifying the DATE they gave it to a patient. Learned that the FDA went to Japan to inspect their plant because that is where Flousol was produced. It was sold in US but was made in Japan.
Asked Dr. Drees if I could post the Sanguine business plan and he said it would be OK. (About 25-30 pages)
Asked Dr. Drees if I could post his article on Commercial Analysis of Synthetic Red Blood Cells. He said yes.
I will try and post these early next week. (going out ot town this weekend, and it will take some time to do.
Everything sounded good to me and is proceeding along nicely.
This is how I remember our conversation.
