Hi Michael and Barbara - Will you let us know what brokerages you decide to move to? I would have liked to know the inside story on this, but to me it looks like Datek is deliberately ripping off its shorting customers. Is it possible to find out if they had a large position themselves in stocks they make non-shortable? This seems to happen only to stocks like Amzn, Ktel, and Altif - that is, stocks selling at a price that has nothing to do with their real value. BTW has anyone shorted Altif with other brokers than Datek? Altif started out with a spread of 1/2 this morning - I wonder if they manage to squeeze it. Kailash
