WELLINGTON (Dow Jones)--New Zealand Post Ltd. is developing a new
service enabling bank customers to pay their bills on the Internet in
association with U.S. electronic commerce concern CheckFree Holdings
Corp. (CKFR).

The service will launch in February. It will allow New Zealand
companies to bill customers on the internet, and receive payments the
same way.

Customers will access bills through either their bank's home banking
system, the biller's web site, or the service directly. Banks can offer Internet delivery and payment under their own brand.

New Zealand Post is a government-owned concern which operated the New
Zealand postal system until it was recently deregulated. It remains the dominant player in that market.
