*AV*--I know it is only teasing but it also does serve a purpose. None of us are perfect and everyone needs to know our limitations and fallability. The deal is being correct (dollar wise) more times than you are wrong.

When you think of it, Larry Walker of the Colorado Rockies with the highest NL batting average of 0.355, is a pathetic excuse for a ballplayer. After all, close to 66% of the time he does not get a hit.
If our "batting average" was that pathetic, we would be bankrupt. Yet, his pathetic hitting ability nets him millions of dollars in salary each year. Michael Jordan gets paid way to much for the field goal percentage he has on the basketball courts.<GGG>

Yet, an airline pilot that flies only a 5% pilot-induced accident or mishap record would be fired on the spot, even though he is running at a 95% (0.950) success rate. No one would be flying an airline that lands its planes safely only 95% of the time.

Statistics are wonderful and can be manipulated to your hearts content to prove any point you want. However, when it is all said an done, your portfolio is either bigger or smaller at the end of the year. The percent change in your portfolio balance is all that counts on a year to year basis. That is just an indicator of how fast your net worth is growing. The fun comes in by comparing it to others like the Stock indexes, the "hot" monet managers, etc.

BTW-if not for a few good plays this year, I would be in deep do-do. the techs have not been kind<GGG>.

Anyway, I was some space waiting to see if the market would be down within the first hour and how bad it would be. Well, it ain't looking pretty from the looks of my screen. BUMMER!!!! Its just one head fake after another.

Shorted BCST yesterday for +$4 and did not want to hold in over night. Well, it is down over another $3. Larry Walker of the Shorts, I am not<GGG>. Just 1 more hour's worth of market short would have made the difference.<GGG>
