Digital River Partners With Ilium Software to
Streamline Sales of Personal Management
Software

MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 25, 1998--Digital River (NASDAQ: DRIV - news), which
manages the world's largest online database of software products with more than 120,000 titles, today
announced a partnership with Ilium Software, of Ann Arbor, Mich., to automate and streamline sales of
Ilium's online product offering. Ilium software publishes Windows(R)-based personal information
management and game software for handheld, palmsize, desktop and notebook PCs.

Through this agreement, Ilium Software will provide its entire line of personal management and game
software directly to end-users electronically from its online store, managed by Digital River. Additionally,
products will be made available through Digital River's retailer sites including Download Warehouse and
Cyberian Outpost. Prior to the partnership, Ilium sold its products to customers via e-mail.

Additionally, Digital River will provide comprehensive marketing support aimed to expand and retain Ilium

offer special pricing on certain products.
