Hi enigma,

Officially ??

Yes, any plant that can process sour gas can also process sweet gas. But, if you put sweet gas through a "sour processing" that it doesn't need, you are spending $ on processing that you wouldn't have to.

Some plants segregate the inlet streams and split process the sweet and sour inlets. I don't know how Quirk Creek is set up. If the inlet volumes are small it may be more economical to incur the higher processing costs than to spend capital $$ to segregate streams. It is all a question of economics and all operators review same at the time of tie-in.

Discoveries in the area are as follows:

1) BEA/STF 4-13-19-2W5 (The Hartell Devonian Crossfield Formation)
2) Esso/BKP/BEA/STF 2-21-21-3W5(Mississippian Turner Valley Formation)
3) BEA/STF 7-25-20-3W5 (Devonian Crossfield Formation)

The BEA/STF 6-15-21-3W5 is a pending 3/4 mile stepout development well to the Esso et al 2-21 Turner Valley discovery. It awaits licensing by the EUB. Given concerns of "affected residents in the area" this process takes time and patience. And, sometimes grease helps!!

Note: The operators have announced the discoveries in 1) and 2) above whereas only grayhairs has announced the discovery in 3), so do recognize that this is MOO !!!!!!

Later,
grayhairs
