Cisco Systems CEO says there is a "very low probability" the company would acquire CIEN, according to the Washington Post. CEO says that Maryland-based CIEN too far away from San Jose and that the corporate cultures are too different.

These factors, which have nothing to do with recent events, would suggest that CSCO was not "Company A" in the original proxy materials.
