Lee--I always admired the Southern ability to turn a phrase. Your saying about chickens and coming out of the rain reminded me of that. They seemed to have a knack for saying what they meant in just the right way. My problem with it, was it often wasn't what I wanted to hear. I remember grabbing a piglet (just for the Hell of it as I recall) when I was around 10 or so and walking around holding the squealing little bugger. His mother was in a separate pen so I thought I was safe enough. That sow broke through that wooden fence and was after me in a heartbeat. She was so fast. I dropped that piglet and broke the 40 yard record for a cheetah. And she was gaining, not at all willing to just accept me turning that piglet loose as adequate. My Aunt Grace had a heavy wire fence about five feet high and I reached it and a friend of my Aunt's grabbed me and yanked me over just in front of a set of jaws better suited for a Tyrannasaur. My Aunt Grace's friend didn't say anything at first and then he said, "You know boy, I been watching you. You take up a lot of God's spare time just keeping you alive don't you?"
