Gerry, CIMM seems to be a hype job. When I did my search on Salahuddin I got 97 hits going back to 1984. Over 60 of them were related to his problem at NIH. That was a big deal as congress got involved. Salahuddin has already demonstrated the talent of deception and a less than honest approach towards his business dealings. This is not a good charastic in a researcher who needs be beyond reproach. Its my opinion that Salahuddin and Carter are cut from the same bolt of cloth as Carter has allready demonstrated with his affairs with DuPont. In looking at all the references (I read 40 or so) to Zaki Salahuddin, none refered to him as a Phd or MD, just a reseacher. I did find technical referance to a Dharrm V. Ablashi who was described as the discoverer of HHV-6 in 1986, Salahuddin was described as a coworker.
Finally I was supprised that I couldn't find anything on CIMM or California Institute of Molecular Medicine as a registered business in Calf. The only references to show up were in Hemispherx's news releases.
