You don't get it. What I am saying is that if a guy in such a situation happened to tell a lie, and the prosecution wanted to pronounce him guilty, and base their argument entirely on the fact that he made a false statement there, there will be many members on the jury who won't buy it.

And regardless of all the legal mumbo-jumbo, it is the jury that has the final say! Now, deal with that!
