Der Spiegel : 'Projekt Deutschland 2000'

Der Spiegel in the weekly liberal magazine, discussion politics, economics, culture etc. It is the leading magazine of its kind in Germany, and is forming the mindset of many influential Germans.

It is also very critical of Helmut Kohl its his politics; Chanceller Kohl never has let them interview him during his 16 year reign.

A major series (multi page articles) called 'Projekt Deutschland 2000' is currently being published the last few weeks.

As far as I have seen, there is/has been no special article on the Y2k issue at all in this series

The series is about tax reforms, asylants/immigrants policy, health care, justice reforms, pension system reforms.

This is really worrysome.

It states: ' Politiker scheuen sich, dem Waehler die Wahrheit zu sagen. DER SPIEGEL widmet den Tabu-Themen die Serie "Projekt 2000"'

This means: 'politicians do not like to tell the people who are going to elect them the truth. Der Spiegel is dedicating the 'tabu' themes in this series of articles.'

Well Der Spiegel sure missed one 'tabu' theme ;-)
