Dave: "If you can accurately predict the future, then I will give you all my money today and let you invest it for me. :^)"

I wasn't suggesting ALL cases can be predicted. That is why there are courts involved in IPR disputes. But some things are really very clear. All the evidence is that Qualcomm has very strong patent positions. Recall all the licences paid for. Recall that L M Ericsson is trying to get an agreement from Qualcomm and has done for years. They don't do that because they believe Qualcomm's position is weak. Recall that Gregg Powers has hired independent patent investigators to check the strength of patents.

Some things are clear and predictable. Some things are not.

I can predict for you that the Dow will be somewhere between 6000 and 9000 on Monday. I can predict that Qualcomm will be between $35 and $150. I can predict the sun will rise tomorrow.

I'm bringing up just L M Ericsson because they are the ringleader. They are the ones who make the absurd claims. They are the scum who need to be recognized as such. They are, like most people, not beyond redemption, but they are not doing very well so far.

I explained to you in a later post that L M Ericsson having 1600 patents is irrelevant.

Regarding size. You said: "By saying that "They have little negotiating strength." is highly inaccurate. All of the companies that make up the ETSI are combined, much bigger than the Q."

Negotiating strength grows out of the barrel of a gun. The USA has Tomahawks. In civilization, we also use property rights, intellectual argument and thoughtful process. The size of the SETI gangsters is irrelevant. Thugs often are big and stupid. They use their size because they have little else going for them.

Qualcomm is big enough to fund IPR defence in court and seek political support in Washington. Which it is doing. Successfully.

You can look up the patents. They are all available.
