Iran Contra was not a frontal assault on the Constitution. That's absolutely ridiculous. It certainly was a policy dispute between congressional democrats and the republican white house. Lawrence Walsh was a stooge of Tip O'Niell and Jim Wright.

You post that rubbish like it was some kind of dissertation of fact. It is not, it's an opinion piece from someone like you who wants to use the "everybody gets away with it" excuse. But facts are facts. There were no impeachable offenses and Walsh was proven in the end a vindictive partisan slob.

And I never said Clinton's crimes were matters of state, unless bad judgment and potential risk to the office are included as matters of state. His problem is whether the congress wants to treat him better than a civilian perjurer and justice obstructor. If they do, he'll get away with it. If they don't he'll be impeached. Although it doesn't look to me that the senate would vote to remove him, unless the democrats like Moynihan want him out.

What's so hard about that to understand?
