Rene, 50 trades x $10/trade = $500. Hardly free!

Datek costs $10/trade. Most of these guys that include "free" L2 quotes charge around $20/trade. So, if you get the L2 for "free" with 50 trades, you're really paying $500/month for the service.

I can get the same L2 quotes for $350, maybe less, with the same or better timliness and reliability.

FWIW, I get my quotes from Townsend Analytics. I don't get L2, and am not sure if they offer it. Townsend is the company that supplies the Real-Tick III software used by Comstock on the Net, PC Quote 6.0, MB Trading, and many others. I believe Townsend gets their data from Comstock. I'm not sure there is any particular advantage to using Townsend - their prices used to be a bit less than PC Quote, but they've raised them to where they are about equal. I do like dealing with the maker of the software. Their reliabily used to be so-so, but has improved dramatically since they moved their feed to Comstock, and I have NO complaints. taltrade.com if anyone is interested.
