On the local CBS-TV news tonight in San Diego, they announced that a new vaccine has been developed for children's meningitis. (This was from the local conference - ICAAC - that is being held here.) They said it is awaiting FDA approval and would probably be on the market in 1999. No drug company was mentioned. I'll look for more details in the paper tomorrow a.m.
