Interesting news as reported in the Edmonton Journal on September 26, 1998. "Ceapro product gets clinical trials Journal Staff Edmonton Ceapro Inc. has been invited to participate in two international clinical trials on [using] its diabetic screening product. The local company, which develops pharmaceuticals, personal and animal care products, and cosmetics, is also in the final stages of inking a deal with a multi-national pharmaceutical manufacturing and distribution company for the diabetes product, said spokesperson Doug Clement. “We've been invited by a prominent world class university to take part in two trials, but I can't divulge details . . . it's not timelined yet, but we anticipate they'll take place in 1999,” said Clement. Clement also couldn't announce details of the manufacturing and distribution agreements with the multi-national company other than to say, “the product will likely be launched in America in 1999 . . .they've spent the better part of $1 million with us.” Ceapro's patented diabetes screen is geared to early detection and is a food product partly made from oat starch."
