Gary,
I noticed the message you posted quite some time ago re: Watley's Ultimate Trader vs. MB Trading. I am new to this thread. Regarding ABW and MBT, what I found is that they are essentially the same (both utilizing Real Tic III) and the inherent benefit is with the ECNs, news feed and what you're allowed to trade (shortability of certain stocks and the ability to trade options via RAES...the retail automatic execution system). Obviously, both firms offer rapid execution but if I had a choice, I'd go with Watley because of their Broadtape feed (dow jones news). Broadtape headlines and news releases certainly move stocks and the timing of stock moves with a Dow Jones news release is respected by all traders. Bloomberg is great, no question about it. But I do not have 25 million to open an institutional account and thus cannot trade off a Bloomberg Terminal. For my humble assets, the Ultimate Trader is a "Poor Man's Bloomberg."

Another very interesting feature that I have not found with any other broker (except with certain firms specializing in options) is the ability to trade options/leaps in one's retirement account. If you trade and ignore tax-deferred (or in today's case tax-free for Roth) you're missing out on a lot. AB Watley was the ONLY broker I found that allowed options trading in an IRA. I'd much rather keep my IRA and regular accounts at one firm and on one system rather than calling some options firm in San Francisco or Chicago simply to trade leaps in my IRA. Just my humble thoughts...best of luck in your search for a trading system.
