Hi Darrell,

Bloomberg was saying that it is "silly" to believe that nearly all electronic communication will be transferred via the internet

Some analysts just don't get it. Technological advances are bringing us closer together, even though we're miles apart. I've made many good friends over the internet, some of whom I've never met in person. And with ADSL you can have multiple communications mediums on a single line.

The internet's just a stepping stone, though; ultimately, we'll all be wired to each other through transmitters in our heads, and will communicate as fast as the speed of thought, through encrypted packets -- so you can whisper to someone from across a crowded room. (See Message 5779784 for more details, or my profile for even more.)

I completely agree with you on advertising, and also on government spending. Although I tend toward libertarian principles, nanotechnology will be here in 12 years and will "free us" ;-) and the best way to get there is to start wiring people. If that means I have to pay a little more in taxes then so be it. In 12 years money won't matter, so those of us who can afford it should help to make sure the life that evolved on this planet takes over this universe.

I may seem a little whacked, but all cylinders are firing. ;-)

Enjoy,
KenB
