To the thread: I enjoyed the discussion of Dell with you. I will study your analyses and compare them against the more enthusiastic reviews of the Dellheads. It take it you wish to change the subject.
In summary I feel the thread believes Dell to be a superbly managed company, growing at an unsustainable 45% rate in an industry that grows at a 15% rate. The thread feels that eventually Dell's growth will slow and then its hypergrowth will end. The thread feels it is not a buffet stock because it is not undervalued at its current price (provides no margin of safety) and its condition ten years from now cannot be predicted especially in light of the computer industry's history of leadership changes. The thread also disapproves of Dell's practice of issuing stock options to employees on the scale that it does. It does not object, however, to Dell's vigorous buying back of its own shares. Is that correct? Did I leave anything out?

Three questions:
1.In light of the above, does the thread feel a new investor should buy Dell shares,or not?

2.And should I buy more, hold or sell? (Dell is up 180% YTD)

3. Isn't there a whole world of stocks our there which are perfectly fine investment choices that may not meet Warren Buffett's criteria? Isn't it possible that all Buffett stocks are good stocks, but not all good stocks are Buffett stocks? (I wonder what some of the others are that didnt quite make the cut.)

Thanks to all of you for your advice.
