I still think that a recession hurts COST a lot

Clay - Why do you think a recession hurts COST a lot? It seems to me that a deep discount retailer becomes even more appealing to shoppers when money gets a bit tighter. I'd think an upscale company like Starbucks would be more likely to be hurt - I'll stop buying coffee at $12 a pound before I stop shopping at a store that saves me 20-30% on the things I use every day.
