About Jeff Bezos... He was never a hedge fund
manager on Wall St....He was a smart computer guy..
in the league of those at Long Term Capital ;) He
wrote codes for trading and risk management systems
at DE Shaw, a hedge fund here in midtown NYC.
I don't know how much leverage they use but their
strategy (quant/arbitrage) is similar to that of
Long Term. It'd be interesting to know if Bezos let
his hedge fund buddies manage any of AMZN cash.
Given how much this company rely on interest income,
i wouldn't be surprised if he gets aggressive with
his short-term cash and securities... especially
with the expected rate cut(s)in the near term.
