Bruce, I didn't even know who Art Bell was until a few days ago and I haven't ever read or heard him, so I doubt that he had any influence on me. The ONLY hope for us to explore other star systems in a reasonable amount of time is to use very tiny ships. The amount of energy to accelerate a large ship to .5C would be enormous. Nanoships could use the Solar wind to accelerate. Of course there are problems to overcome, but they can be dealt with one at a time. If you find fundamental flaws in my idea point them out. I have survived being insulted by the mighty John Galt. I can take it. Maurice, JFQ any comments? Turn your thoughts away from past wars and onto the future. One comment though. For all the gung-ho commie bashers that were certain that all of Asia was going to fall like dominoes if we didn't stop them in Viet Nam.
