HKS/Hemandt Shah on Lipitor:
"After a very rapid market penetration immediately after its launch during early 1997, Lipitor has continued to gain additional market share in a relatively crowded market for the treatment of high cholesterol. This incredible market share gain (41.4%) is a classic example of how two drug companies, PFE and WLA, carried out an extremely well-planned launch and despite strong counter measures by some of the largest and most dominant drug companies in the cardiovascular market, achieved unprecedented market share within months of its launch."
