You mean yourself as an expert in cache designs but
the obvious thing escaped your precious attention:
K6 had no L2 cache controller. Have you any idea
how complex is the MESI protocol?

Otherwise you might be correct, "the process is
now running so clean" that Atiq Raza characterized
it in the "Maximum PC" magazine (Vol.3 #9, 1998) as:
"I can say with confidence that right now it's
looking like a well-oiled machine, knock on wood
of course".
