This 'Linux as a first step to Solaris' thing is something I've been following quite closely over the past 6 months or so. The Sun involvement with Linux International and the direct development support for Linux on Sparc are clues as to how the whole Linux phenom plays into the overall Unix mindshare (read: Solaris) scheme of things. Of all the good things dropped into Sun's lap of late, this Unix Renaissance from the bottom up (Linux) is the most profound for the future of SUNW.
