Is JBL an earnings play for October 6?:
JBL is a hard call and I could have predicted I would get at least one e-mail about it. Especially in light of the nice gains on 2 of other plays: FLEXF and SLR. Well SLR did go from 39 to 52 in anticipation about 1 1/2 weeks before earnings through 1 week after earnings. FLEXF has increased from 22 to 31 this month and JBL went from 28 to 36 in the same time period. I don't really want to take the chance and hold JBL through earnings as I did SLR. First of all JBL will have much better 'anticipatory upswing' than SLR, since it is a trader's stock.

Look at it from Monday.. if it makes it through Monday/Tuesday it should be alright, since chart is already a 'buy'. I would still only pick it up early Monday if it doesn't gap up and hold through Tuesday.. consider selling if market weakens by week end. If the trend indeed continues through the 1st of October etc, I would consider it a position trade or swing trade until earnings.

As for an intermediate trade, I don't feel ANYTHING is really good for that long a hold (2-3 months).. Market volatility is such that I would not count on anything beyond a week or two. JBL is probably a better bet than most others and I expect it to rebound as soon as next quarter. If you don't need the money for a year or two and don't mind some volatility, then I would see nothing wrong with JBL as a long term hold 1-2 years.

technicals: MACD is bullish and so is relative strength. By now it is apparent that JBL is under accumulation.
