Sorry, dougjn; for implying your post was racist. Actually,
I went back and looked at your comment, and it is obvious to
me now that it was completely satirical, and also in good taste.

Incidentally, the above is a sincere admission of error and an
apology. I hope you will accept is as such. If we fill this
thread with personal flames, there really isn't much need to
have it. I'd like to see it filled with links to newsworthy
items, and fresh, new viewpoints. I'd like to hear your
viewpoints on the news, rather than your viewpoints on
how intelligent the various posters to this thread are.

So now I'll go back to flaming the president. :)

I am somewhat disappointed that no one responded on the
White House side to the link posted earlier tonight. I'll
repeat it here for convenience. It regards a woman
convicted of perjury for lying under oath about sex:

She denied to them that she had engaged in sexual relations
with Arthur in her office on June 27, 1991.

On July 13-14, 1995, Chief Magistrate Judge Mikel Williams
conducted a hearing to determine the scope of Battalino's
employment at the VA. During the hearing she testified falsely
under oath about what had happened between Arthur and her
during his visit on June 27, 1991. In so doing, she violated
the obstruction of justice statute, Title 18, United States
Code, Section 1503. She is scheduled to be sentenced on July
20, 1998 at 9:30 A.M. before the Honorable Edward J. Lodge.

Do you have a response to this?
