Well, I tend to be somewhat to the right of center on economic issues myself. What it really amounts to is my reading of what works. So I share some of the same feelings about being pushed towards Demos. I might not otherwise vote for (e.g. Schumer).

But with SS, are you talking about reforming it, or just eliminating it? It's no doubt not the ideal system, esp. if you were starting from scratch, but there sure are a lot of elderly poor (and otherwise destitute) who really need it (or something like), it seems to me.
