This brief exchange illustrates why I find it so frustrating to read these Clinton threads.

X to Y: ....You know, fear of religion can be treated by a qualified professional.

Comment: Diagnosis of "fear of religion" apparently based on cracks about X's failing to be in church on Sunday morning.

Y to X: Don't you just wish they had managed to get the Constitution ratified without that nasty follow on Bill of Rights? Especially the First Amendment, with its pesky bits about not establishing any religion?

Comment: Relevant section of the Amendment referred to: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.." Y implying that X wants to impose his view of religion on everybody else.

X to Y: What does that have to do with your fear/hate of religion? The first amendment doesn't outlaw religion, much to your dismay.

Comment: 1) Y never implied he feared/hated religion as such. 2) Y never implied that the first amendment outlawed religion as such, or that he would welcome such a ban.

In other words, what on earth was this argument about?

Too many posts on this and other Clinton threads are similarly empty of content, although full of vitriol. And it is a waste of time to read them.
