If your gut feel is that the trend towards decentralization will help Dell in the server space, I think you're right. This would be especially true for 'cookbook' style application servers where Dell's configuration capability would be an adequate substitute for expensive consulting services. This is the lower end of the enterprise space, a place where as I have said, Dell is rewriting the rules.

Many of Dell's server offerings (especially rack mount Xeon systems) would certainly qualify as midrange. I also think you have correctly defined the dividing line, which will be the place at which Centralized purchasing and a high services and consulting component become important factors in the purchase decision.
