I have a good hunch that Sun is going to come up with a good upside surprise on its earnings front on Monday, October 12th. Though the current estimates (per First Call) are for 0.49c (v. 0.36c last year) for Q1 '99 and $2.16 for FY '99, a figure closer to 0.53-.55c would seem more realistic. This will push analysts like Laura Conigliaro to revise full year estimates close to $2.50, and with recent US $ weakness and at current P/E of 27, a run up to a 65-70 range is well within reach by end-December. Can't wait for their earnings report this quarter, as it could well be the harbinger of the cockroach theory...finally. Meantime, it's cool to act.
