Re: HRNT

Whatever else is true of this stock, its long term performance has been dreadful. The stock was apparently over $5 last year ( per #reply-2277438 ) prior to the big happenings in Oct. and is currently priced at $0.025. (See: portfolio.stockmaster.com )

I haven't heard much about this one since last October. I believe the British Columbia Securities Commission and to a lesser extent NASD Regulation were the main regulatory players. AFAIK the stock was not subject to an SEC trading suspension. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be much news since last fall. This was a stock that was apparently touted here on SI as a short squeeze opportunity that the British Columbia Securities Commission viewed in a somewhat different light. The BC Securities Commission froze the accounts of a number of company insiders and the company sued the Commission. I don't know the outcome (if in fact there has been one). Most of the information that I could find quickly came from the SI thread. For those interested in last fall's information, here are some posts that I found interesting, a dubious strong recommnedation from an online newsletter, copies of the various freeze orders from the BC Security Commission and the company's lawsuit:

The stock was touted as a "Strong Buy" in Sept., 1997 by the online newsletter Penny Global Stocks: pennystock.com. About a month later, the legal festivities began:
