Dwight I have to tell you that no republican is winning points by supporting the gratutitous sex in the Starr report. There was no reason for it - NONE. Starr embarrassed the president but more importantly the country with it. He either is so blindsided by his hatred of the president that he has no judgement or he is on that infamous holyer than thou crusade to cleanse the world of what he thinks is inappropriate sex. Either scenario is unacceptable for an IC. In choosing to address the specifics of this in the way he did, he fueled his critics (and the republican critics) with more ammunition that he is out of control.

I have said I think the republicans were in a pretty good position, UNTIL the Starr report actually came out. We were expecting corruption, remember? The republican line was "this is not about sex". Oh really? Starr was stupid to handle this the way he did, just plain stupid.

And any one of the remove Clinton crowd that excuses Starrs performance in this charade is casting doubt on their own judgement imo. Remember, Clinton was caught in the act doing something - he didnt know he was being watched. Starr was under the microscope the entire time. He once wanted to be on the Supreme Court! WHAT! No, Starr lacks the EQ for the job - any job - Im afraid.
