I believe the LTC reverberations will be felt throughout many markets and countries for quite some time. If nothing else LTC most likely will arouse the interest of the politicians in hedge funds and will begin closely examining and further(?) regulating their actions and disclosures as a result. Hopefully no further financial domino hedge funds are out there, but it wouldn't surprise me if there were. We all hear about hedge funds [mentioned every day in the financial press], but haven't really stopped to think about what they are, and what their potential (and real) impacts on the securities markets is/can be.

I personally am surprised at the amount of leverage the hedge funds seem to have available to them. These guys/gals are leveraged to the hilt. Kinda like a seriously overextended margin account of gigantic proportions, with significant margin calls arriving in the morning. I don't know how these people can sleep at night if they are as smart as many claim. Risk can be quantified, and put to the stringent tests of Nobel Laurate's mathematical models, but apparently risk can not be controlled or eliminated. There will always be some form of risk associated with the investment process, that's the very nature of investing, it always has been, and it always will be.
