That's probably because of productivity concerns, right? What if someone is already working say 12 or more hours a day, or on that day? 10?

Maybe it could be a productivity ENHANCHER. Have you considered that possibility? You know, if both are overachievers and all. Keeps them in the office, doesn't it?

Now if they always have to run off to some motel, isn't that really just the imposition of another, and unnecessary, commute period? I thought we all knew that commuting time was one of the worst wasters of productivity in modern American life. Indeed, a waster of BOTH work time and quality family time. No?

I think what you're REALLY worried about could be hygiene. What if they clean up really, really well each time? You know, both germicides and air fresheners???

OK, finally, maybe you're worried about the misuse of company property for private gain? If they paid a short term motel rate for the use of the premises? Surely that would erase ALL possible objection, wouldn't it?
