Raymond,
A couple more Qu'ran translations that show Sura 22:52 talks about Satan putting false messages in a prophet's mouth, not vanity or desires....
"52. Never sent We a messenger or a prophet before thee but when He recited (the message) Satan proposed (opposition) in respect of that which he recited thereof. But Allah abolisheth that which Satan proposeth. Then Allah establisheth His revelations. Allah is Knower, Wise; [QS: 22:52]"

52. Never did We send a Messenger or a Prophet before you, but; when he did recite the revelation or narrated or spoke, Shaitân (Satan) threw (some falsehood) in it. But Allâh abolishes that which Shaitân (Satan) throws in. Then Allâh establishes His Revelations. And Allâh is All-Knower, All-Wise:"

Then I found other spins on the same verse:
22: 53. Never did WE send a Messenger or a Prophet before thee, but when he sought to attain his object, Satan put obstacles in the way of what he sought after. But ALLAH removes the obstacles that are placed by Satan. Then ALLAH firmly establishes HIS Signs. And ALLAH is All-Knowing, Wise.

Satan would try to tamper with the desires of every Prophet or Messenger whom We sent. Then God would remove Satan's temptations and strengthen His revelations. God is All-knowing and All-wise. (22:52)

And by the way, are all these sites anti-Islamic?
So now what I find is many translational differences....so as you were saying, how easy is the Qu'ran to translate?
The Qu'ran I look at might be right or wrong, according to you, or whoever translates it. Oh I'm so confused!
Maybe I need to learn the native dialect this book is written to find out the real translation because I am confused.
