Ali -

I wasn't thinking that DT would be an immediate buyer only that their share price has held during the crash.

I don't think that BT will buy anything in the US after the MCI debacle. I think the institutions have told the board basically to do a deal with T and to leave it to the big boys.

As far as the DT interest is concerened:-

1. As I say their share price is still solid.

2. They have an agreed strategy of global acquisition.

3. There are about some 12/15 major groups out there that are obvious potential buyer and then the another bunch who are not so obvious eg Hollywood or tobacco or newpapers or banks.

These buyers wil start to see the attractions of buying WCII I would say after the Q4 announcement but maybe before. They will be worried about DT because it ( and or France Telecom) are keen buyers in the global market place and ready to snap up any company that looks attractive. In other woreds what I am saying is that it doesn't really matter if DT is going to be the buyer only that it looks like they might be a really credible buyer then others will join in not to moss the boat.

BTW when is the Q3 annoucement?

Regards,

L
