You might want to read "Trading For a Living" by Dr. Alexander Elder. An excellent manual on market (read mob) psychology.
My very first read... Liked it alot. Get's one into the right frame of mind. Better pull it out again now that my head is filled with way too much information.
Tim suggested the "Tao of Trading" which I bought and will read again, too. It is directed purely at the mental attitude and preparation.
I remember one thing from Elder's book: Elder starts each trading day with, "I am a loser." How appropriate for my 1st month! <GGG>
I can see there are no simple answers. It's important to set up the hardware, software, news, chat rooms, reference material, physical environment, and other resources that allow each individual to get just the right amount and right kind of information for their particular needs, abilities, and style of trading. The rest has to be filtered out to prevent distractions. I'm still in the early stages of exploration. I can see progress, but haven't been in the trenches long enough to get perspective.
Thanks to all for shining the light across the minefield!
P.S. I notice that my writing is getting better because of SI, too. Nice bonus. Next the trading!
